Our Causes
Giving from the Heart
Love of family is at the heart of the causes that the Collie family has embraced. Individually and through Top Shop, the Collie family gives of their time, money and resources to support causes that reflect their core values. Two of those causes are St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Habitat for Humanity® of the Mid-Ohio Valley.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
If you ask them, Daniel and Elizabeth Collie will tell you that the people of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital are angels on earth. Their daughter Eleanor – Ellie – was a patient at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital when she was just one year old.
There Ellie received life-saving treatment for acute megakaryoblastic leukemia (AMKL), a rare subtype of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). During her treatments, Daniel and Elizabeth lived in Memphis for nine months.
“I was able to leave my job and be with her full time because we did not have to worry about the burden of paying for her treatment or finding a place to live.” – Elizabeth Collie
To celebrate Ellie’s healing and to support other families with children facing such health challenges, the family helps St. Jude raise funds during the annual Memphis Marathon Weekend through team Elliephants. Click here to learn more about the event.
Habitat for Humanity of the Mid-Ohio Valley
Every child should have a home. This is a value the Collie family shares with Habitat for Humanity® of the Mid-Ohio Valley. In the fall of 2023 the family started discussing how they could support this important organization.
In 2024, the family formed a partnership to provide, free of charge, the cabinetry needed for the kitchens and bathrooms in homes built by Habitat for Humanity® here in the Mid-Ohio Valley.
“We were excited to hear from Top Shop that they were interested in partnering with us. It came at a time that we were actively looking at reducing increasing building costs. This will be such a blessing to homebuyers. The Collie family has been incredibly generous, and we’re looking forward to working with them to offer decent, affordable homes to the eight families currently approved for the process!”
